This covers finalbuild2.com, muckworks.finalbuild2.com and the MuckList. Short version: no cookies, no analytics, no ads. If you join the MuckList, your email address is used for Muckworks news and nothing else.
Who is responsible
Niels Cornette, trading as FinalBuild2. Contact: hello@finalbuild2.com.
Visiting the sites
The sites set no cookies and use no analytics or tracking. Like every web server, ours logs each request: IP address, time, the page asked for and the browser's user agent. These logs are only used to keep the sites secure and working, and are deleted after 30 days.
All traffic passes through Cloudflare, which protects and speeds up the sites and handles your request data to do so.
The MuckList
When you join, we store:
- your email address
- the date and time you joined, and which of the two sites the form was on
- whether you are on the list or have left it
- whether you want every update or only the big stuff
- whether the welcome email was delivered
It is used to send you Muckworks news: development updates, disasters and release news. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the link in every email or by emailing us.
When you leave or switch to big stuff only, you can tick reasons and write a note. That is optional, and it is stored separately from your address, with only the date.
To keep bots and floods out, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which looks at signals from your browser to tell people from bots, and your IP address is kept in memory for at most one hour to limit how many signups come from one connection. It is never written to the database. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in keeping the list free of abuse.
Who handles the data for us
- Hetzner Online: the server and database, in Nuremberg, Germany.
- Cloudflare: network, security and the Turnstile check.
- Microsoft (Microsoft 365): sending emails from hello@finalbuild2.com.
Cloudflare and Microsoft are US companies and may handle data outside the EU, under the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Your address is never sold or shared with anyone else.
How long it is kept
Your address is kept while you are on the list. When you leave, it is marked as left and gets no more email. To have it deleted completely, email hello@finalbuild2.com. Daily database backups are kept for 14 days, so a deleted address disappears from those within two weeks.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, or to get a copy of it. Email hello@finalbuild2.com. If you think your data is handled wrongly, you can complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
